Can Sky arrange to remove old cables. I have had so many sky box installations over the years and every time an engineer comes they just leave the old cables and install new ones. It is become an eye sore. Can Sky send an engineer to remove the old cables which are no longer in use? Why weren't they removed at the time?
Please advise. Thank you

Thanks for that. I will never let Sky do an upgrade again, now that I know this. God knows where I find an independent and trustworthy person to do this job? Any ideas where I can look?

You don't say what cables you're referring to as Sky normally re-use existing satellite cable or replace it if unusable.
If it's old telephone cables after upgrading to fibre then those would need to be left alone as it's not recommended anyone mess with Openreach cables.

I'm wondering if I can ask Sky to come and have a look to see what can be removed. I do have BT Open Reach now but so many other cables have been left in my house clipped to the walls from outside to the sockets etc in my living room. This has built up over all the years of different installations that Sky rope you into (never again)! Looks like spaghetti junction. I'm worried that an independent could end up removing the wrong cable(s). Wonder how much Sky would charge to sort all this out, once and for all?

If you use a reputable, local aerial & satellite specialist, they will know what they are doing, and would be a lot quicker than trying to get Sky to 1) agree to send an engineer, and 2) schedule an engineer to come out to you.

£65 seems to be the figure mentioned on the forums - assuming they would undertake the work.
(In my experience my installer did remove the previous cabling when installing new - but I don't know what the current protocol is)

As mentioned, it's rare that Sky need to replace the dish cabling, but if they did they would normally take the old cable out first.
I'm wondering if you previously had several multiroom Sky+ boxes, which all would have required their own cables from the dish to the room they were in. Then, had Sky Q installed which only requires the main box to have a dish cable.
