Problems with remote and tv

My Sky Q remote works perfectly for the Sky box, but it intermittently loses TV power and volume control. I've replaced the remote and the problem remains. Restarting the Sky Q box restores the functions for a few days, then they stop again. The problem started after my Sky router was replaced."

hi @Paulbj1968 

Neither the SKY Q box  nor the router should have any effect on your remote's ability to control the TV once it is set, despite the fact that restarting your box seems to coincide with it working again.

The SKY Q remote just uses Infrared codes to operate the TV just like your TV's own remote

Is the TV's IR receiver clean & not obstructed. 

When it plays up can you try your TV's own remote to see if that also suffers

Nothing obstructs the box and it's clean. The remote for my tv hasn't controlled it, but it is currently working. Still no control of volume or power through sky remote though. Very frustrating!!

I keep putting in new batteries and they only last 3 days

I had the same problem of not being able to turn off the tv and volume again last night!!
