Problem with HDMI on Sky Q

I watch a recording on my TV from Sky Q all working fine. Got up to watch news this morning and TV displaying a blue screen with message saying screen does not support HDCP

HDMI cable has not been touch nor has TV or Q box

Hi @Petula 

Completely remove the HDMI cable at both ends and then refit it ensuring that both ends are fully located.

Hi @Petula   You may have to reboot your TV and Sky Q box.

I've done all that including unplugging for 30 mins re-inserting cable etc

How long is the cable?  Is it Sky supplied one?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Yes it's the original cable that came with the Q box I have changed nothing

Have you tried a different HDMI socket on the TV? Sounds like it could be a problem at either end.

No I've never needed one but I will try a different socket and if that doesn't work a different cable.. thank you

And don't spend more than about a fiver on a cable. Tenner if it's 2m long maybe.

No im going to need to buy one so stuck until then. I've tried a different pot but it still says the same thing but the box seems to be working with all the lights on etc so not sure what has happened or why as I have touched it until now

You have tried rebooting the Television set have you @Petula .

Disconnect the power lead for 30 seconds and then reconnect.

 

If you have done that I assume you don't have a different Television to try with the Q box

Yes tried all that thanks and no, I'm a one TV household 😁

I will have to wait for a new cable to come then try that as my last resort I suppose

Cable came with Q box
