Paramount+ is now listing shows as being in 4K or 4K HDR (inc. Dolby Vision). However, the standard account through Sky does not seem to play in 4K/HDR.
Does anyone know anything about an upgrade options or Sky's plans etc?

That would make sense but I am using my Sky standard plan through the most current version of the app on my 2023 LG TV. I've reached out to Paramount+ themselves.
Just to confirm, you have the Standard Plan through Sky and you are watching via your Apple TV device and you are getting 4K and Dolby Vision? Thanks.

Although there were a few pages earlier this year saying that it would be introducing 4K & tiered plans I have not seen & can't currently find (but that could just be me) any recent announcements with any more details.
Once their plans are announced it may be a while before there are any changes via SKY

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Odyssey2k1 Sorry, just double checked, the programmes I was watching were HD HDR (HDR10 set on the Apple TV). Have you got an example of a 4K HDR programme or movie?

Frasier is in 4k with Dolby Vision.
I also have Paramount+ through Sky and just checking on both my Samsungs I find the following.
The Sky Q app doesn't list any contact as 4k. Both my Samsungs Paramount+ apps show some 4k content (with HDR eg Frasier ) content however when I play any of the content it is not in HDR - I can see by checking both the TVs' picture mode.
Interestingly if I'm watching something in 4k on Sky - eg the City/Arsenal match - when I switch to the TV's Paramount app the TV stays in HDR mode. But as soon as I chose some 4k content to play it switches to non HDR. (So I can least see the menus in glorious HDR!) This may be due to an account restriction or perhaps 4K functionality isn't up and running properly.
I may try a 7 day free trial with a spare email to see if a stand alone account works.

I've heard back from Paramount and it looks like it is on it way. Who knows if and when the rollout will be complete though.
Thank you for contacting Paramount+. We are glad to assist you. We currently have limited 4K content available on 4K-capable devices, eg, Apple TV HD, Apple TV 4K, but we are working on expanding this offering.
Surround sound is available on limited shows for these supported devices:
Apple TV HD and 4k
Roku devices and Roku TV
Android TV
Fire TV
Note: Supported devices must be connected via HDMI to a receiver capable of decoding Dolby Audio.

@hrai If its in dolby vision then Sky Q isn't compatible with HDR in dolby vision

Did they mix up Dolby Vision and Dolby surround?

Right I did try a stand alone sub and although 4K/HDR is listed nothing played in HDR so I'm thinking that 4k service hasn't fully launched yet.
Also when signing up there also wasn't any option for an additional tier for 4k content either which I believe is the plan so I think someone has jumped the gun but it does suggest that 4k is close to launching in the UK.

Just out of interest did you make sure you said in the UK ?
From their reply it could be in any Region - support teams have a habit of responding on an 'international' basis

The app on my Samsung lists both HDR10 and Dolby Vision for HDR formats suggesting that it could be available via Sky Q?

I did (you ha e to declare what country you are from when contacting them) and I mentioned I was a Sky subscriber, so hopefully they have the correct answer for the UK.

My guess is that the 4K service is near to being launched but not yet set up fully in the UK
My Firestick 4K app is also listing some shows as availible in 4K/HDR

Possibly - but I know when Discovery+ was fairly new and Eurosport were showing the Olympics in 4K I had a difficult time with their support team tryimg to find out if their Fiorestick app supported 4K.
They were clearly responding off scripts and really didn't know the differences between what was available in the US & the UK
Hopefully Paramount + support are better
