I'm having the same problem. I'm waiting on the cancellations team calling me to discuss removing the cinema package and then re-adding it to see if that sorts the gremlins out. If it doesn't I'll be cancelling cinema completely.

 

Has anyone had any success in achieving a resolution to this?

I signed up today and having the exact same issue. Rang Sky who troubleshooted everything and said everything is sorted their end and to wait 24 hours. They also told me to email paramount (which I've done) to see if they can chivvy things along - really not great from Sky so far. If it isn't sorted I'll probably end up cancelling cinema whilst in my cooling off period...

I ended up cancelling my cinema as no amount of waiting/troubleshooting worked. The 24hr wait that they ask you to wait is a load of codswallop. Sky deny all knowledge of any problems yet, on here there are quite a few people stating the same issue. Until I see a resolution then Sky Cinema will be put on hold

I have some news on that. I've spoken with Paramount who have diagnosed the problem as Paramount+ not being added to my 'marketplace' which is causing Error 2008 (which incidentally means that a sky package does not allow an add on or is missing an add on - love how Paramount knew that and sky didn't). 

 

Now back on hold with Sky who are trying to add paramount to my marketplace and will revert back if I get anywhere again!

@hazrazaz ohhh be interesting to hear how you get on , my fingers are very crossed for some good news to report back .

We are in limbo currently,  not knowing if to sit on the phone again for hours, or to just cancel altogether. 

We only really wanted paramount,  but it worked out hardly anymore to have it with sky cinema .

 

Been trying since we subscribed to the package on Friday, and just getting nowhere.

Glad we aren't alone, but I'm just sorry at the same time that others are having this frustration.

@Leo+KL I know 72 hours aren't quite up, but wondering if you'd had any luck at all, or a phone call back,  being as you started this thread to which I'm grateful

Not great news right now - Sky have confirmed to me over the phone that there is a known issue with the Cinema / Paramount offering and that many customers have faced the same issues we have. 

 

Just been transferred to cancellations as Sky have confirmed they will not be able to offer me paramount plus and cinema together as the system won't allow it. Something to do with multiple billing addresses / sky accounts- even though I only have one. There's no timeframe for them to fix it.

@hazrazaz oh that's terrible , I was really hoping for better news.

 

Sounded great on paper too didn't it ! Why offer something unless they know it is working? 

Not just the frustration,  but the time spent sat on the phone, with no good outcome is beyond annoying.

They need to take the offer down or something,   to save others going through this.

Looks like we will be off to cancel as well then. Maybe we will just try getting paramount separately instead  .

Now on the phone with cancellations who don't agree with Tech's assumption that nothing can be done. Currently trying to remove and add cinema again to see if we can 'kickstart' the system - let's just say the chap on the phone is not very happy at the way I have been fobbed off and won't accept that is the case. So hopefully this will work!!

So I've been scheduled in for a call back tomorrow to see what happens overnight - they've faffed with almost every setting imaginable. 

 

If it isn't fixed I've been promised I can cancel sky cinema with no charge - but fingers crossed anyway.

We have just gone through the process to cancel sky cinema. No-one knew how to fix it or even what the issue was. 

So we have cancelled the package.

Good luck to anyone still trying! Would love to hear if you get it resolved.

Just signed up to the Sky Cinema sale deal at £8 which is good value. Really want Paramount + but got the same 2008 error mesage. I had Sky cinema and Paramount up to mid last year and cancelled it to save some bucks so got the good deal. Same as everyone else here, have the error message. I tried refreshing the apps on Sky but to no avail. Maybe if someone else tries?...Head to Settings but don't select. Type 001 then select and head to Refresh apps. Takes awhile but does do it. Also update Sky q box software today now on Q220.000.23.00L. Still nothing but if it works for anyone else please post back. Good luck folks.

I did both those things as well to no avail. Just gave up in the end
