Offers

Hi.

I have contacted someone from sky, asking how to reduce my bill for the future, i'm a single mum with 3 children, I told them that i couldn't afford £79 a month and wanted to change my items on their. My contract runs out 18th May 2024 ,I also had someone contact me a few weeks ago from sky asking if i wanted to change items on sky, at that time i was busy so asked to call later which they didn't, So the lady on the end of the phone basically said leave if your not happy , theres nothing they can do so put up with it or leave? what can i do now?

Re: Offers

@mary+poppinsIf you are towards the end of your contract sky usually will give you some incentive to sign up for another 18 months.  Sometimes some money off or maybe sky cinema at a discounted rate etc but it is not certain and I do think sky are getting a bit more difficult to get offers from at times.  If you are at the end of your contract and arent happy with the cost then your option is to cancel.  You may find that you are offered somthing better at that stage or you may get offered nothing.  You may find after you cancel they call you back and make and offer or they may not.  It is a bit of a lottery what you are offered.  Just remember if you do cancel you cannot rejoin with a new customer offer for I beleive 12 months (possibly 18).

The best way to get a cheaper deal on a new contract is to go ahead and put in your cancellation. This will then allow the retentions department to contact you, or you can contact them.

Be firm but friendly and tell them what you can afford and what you would like to achieve in terms of cost. This can often lead to much better offers. The alternative might be to switch to the Sky Essentials package which is usually £15pm (though some pay just £5pm) which is basically the free-to-air channels on your Sky Q box, with the ability to record them.

TBH it varies on a day to day basis and depends on who you speak to as to whether or not you can get a good deal or not, but offers are available, it just takes a bit of time and perseverence to get them.

You can either phone Sky to begin your cancellation or you can do a live chat via the option at the end of this page when you choose 'No I Still Need Help.'

Your service will continue as normal during your 31 day cancellation period.
