New to Sky Q

Hi previously on sky + £10 a month to record freeview.

Rang sky on 22nd Nov about the Sky Q packages similar to the above, was told only way to get Sky Q at that price would be to sign up for signature package and get the installation for free , then once installed ring up and get the essential package for £7/10 a month which is what I wanted , so got the installation done last Friday half a day off work for new dish and box , all working well, rang up tonight after over an hour been passed from person to person they saying don't do essential package any more , so stuck with the signature package and paying more , should have kept old set up. So guess ill cancel and go the freeview box route. Thanks Sky

Someone else mentioned yesterday that Q essentials may have been recently discontinued.

If you've agreed a minimum term then I'm not sure if you can cancel.  You'll have to call to see if there is a cooling off period.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Not sure what's going on, they said essential package might come back next month try ringing again, but after tonight's 1hr odd is it worth it 🤷‍♂️

Re: New to Sky Q

I completed a survey recently that asked if I'd move from sky q essentials to a package similar to the essentials package available on sky stream so that might be the direction of travel they've going with.

Re: New to Sky Q

When my minium term finishes I am cancelling Sky not going to continue to pay £42 a month for channels I dont watch I only really watch sport and Sky  news and film films on Netflix andprime video,. So will by cheap firstick and just have now tv and discovery+ for sport will also still get my Netflix and prime video I will  be saving over £50. month and I am not tired in to contract. Cancel when I like if the price goes up to much.
