New series reminders
So, giving up Sky+ for SkyQ was a huge mistake. There isn't one thing that's better and I'm now tied in for 2 years!
There are a number of programmes I'm into and waiting for the new series to start. There is no way of knowing when they're coming on, is there? Is it a case of googling the shows and putting something in my diary? Not having a reminder is a backward step especially for my dear elderly ma.

If you go onto the Geektown website and search for series you're interested in you can sign up for free emails that provide information on first airings in the UK which arrive about 7-10 days before it first airs.

Re: New series reminders
There are several things which are better;
UHD and HDR support
Atmos support
Integrated search across streaming apps
Integrated Streaming apps (invaluable on minis imho)
Voice search
More storage
Single box, multiple playback (suits me, might not suit some)

Re: New series reminders
I hear you and maybe I'll come to agree, eventually 🙂 For the moment my frustration negates those improvements, but that's just me. I would like to understand why Sky did not include this simple tool.

My opinion is that they want more control over what they get in front of your eyeballs to maximise your viewing time, like all the big streaming platforms. So something which lets you just carry on watching the same stuff you know you like isn't a good investment for them, and possibly detracts from their strategy.

Re: New series reminders
Thank you. I came across New Series feature, and it might come in useful at a later date, rather than the specific programmes I'm interested in.
