Netflix???

I read somewhere that Sky users have access to Netflix and I am assuming that there's no charge for this??. Or have I got that completely wrong.

I pay almost £100 a month ( subscription) but I don't have Netflix, as far as I'm aware.

Netflix is known as the Ultimate TV add-on with Sky Q. If you don't have it already then you should ring Sky and negotiate. £100pm is an awful lot to be paying for just a TV service so if you're out of contract you should negotiate a reduction if you want to sign up for another 18 months.

Netflix Basic is bundled in the Sky 'Ultimate Television' product, but not with 'Sky Signature'.

It's not free (Ultimate Television costs a bit more than Signature did) but it's lower cost than 'Signature' plus a Basic subscription directly through Netflix.

Having the Sky HD and UHD add-ons bumps Netflix Basic to Standard and then Premium respectively.  Best value is where the Sky subscriber has chosen to have those add-ons anyway, because they are effectively getting Netflix Premium (UHD, four screens) for less than the cost of Netflix Basic (720p, one screen).

...as above - Sky have been bundling NetFlix with certain deals but it sounds like you have an older package which won't.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

@SlenderRobert

Many Thanks for your replies. I checked . I pay £97 a month. I have Bt Sports, Sky Sports package, HD , Multi screen @Sky signature. I don't have films or anything else.

I don't think I would get anywhere with Sky if I was to enquire about Netflix. I am certain I don't have Netflix..

I found out that my contract is ending in Sept 23.

Thanks againfor all your replies.

That's why you don't have Netflix through Sky.

They would happily move you from 'Signature' to 'Ultimate Television' on a new minimum term.

As I said above, it would be more than Signature, but less than Signature plus Netflix Basic fom Netflix.

Pricing from Netflix themselves is:

  • £4.99 per month The cheapest membership is an ad-supported tier that allows subscribers to watch on one device at a time with no downloads available.
  • £6.99 per month This membership allows subscribers to watch on one device at a time in standard definition.
  • £10.99 per month Standard subscription - Viewers can watch in HD and on two devices at a time.
  • £15.99 per month Premium subscription - Viewers can watch in Ultra HD where available, on four devices at a time.

As you already have the Sky HD add-on, the Netflix Basic bundled with Ultimate TV would be upgraded to Netflix Standard automatically at no additional cost.

Edit: spotted an error in that price list - Netflix Basic (£6.99) is now 720p rather than SD
