My sky remote is not working, I have changed the batteries and tested them in a seperate remote

My sky remote is not working. I have changed the batteries and tested them in a different remote

It seems as though the box is not recognising it.

I can use sky if I programme the Samsung remote

I can turn the sky box on and it shows sk on the tv,

@Mayflower01 Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then

Try resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

Mine did not work I pressed the 7 &9 button together and the sky box switched off

My sky remote also nit working. Tried turning the box off and back in again. Also tried pressing 7 & 9 together it just switched it off.

Yes tried all the tests I'm waiting for a response from sky it's been 48hrs still nothing I'm paying for sky and can't watch my TV. Only been with sky 3 weeks.

Thank you! My SKY remote had stopped working with my SKY Q box - so, in desperation, I did as you advised. Turning the 'box' on and off, alone, changed nothing - but resetting the 'remote' worked a treat! 
Initially, I tried the latter step, firstly,  but no instructions appeared on my TV screen - despite the 'LED' lights responding on the remote, as you'd predicted. 
However, the combination of the two steps, in the order you suggested,  DID work - so, obviously, both were definitely required in my case! 
Thanks again - so kind of you to have helped resolve my 'SKY remote' problem! No idea what caused it - though my SKY Q 'box' does lose 'TV channel' info. very often in cloudy or stormy weather conditions..! 
That's, clearly, due to 'signal loss' from my SKY home 'wifi' - yet my mobile phone's SKY 'sim' is never adversely affected! I know that they each receive their individual signals from different masts - but it's still incredibly frustrating...and annoying...!

I have just got sky glass and had issues with the remote as it was hard to get access to and know completely not working I have taken all steps to make sure that changes the batteries is not coming on I have been the whole day without this working

I'm in the same situation. My sky remote isn't even lighting up. I've changed the batteries and tried 7-9 but nothing . The remote seems dead. 

It's so frustrating, and I know I'm going to end up phoning sky, that's my day eaten into ☹️

Did you manage to get your route to work? I have the same issue and no idea how to fix it

Same issues with me. It has just gone dead.  Changed batteries, can't reset 79.  Is this something just happening today?

I contacted Sky on their chat. Got a replacement. Replacement set up immediately. So I'm sorted.
