Multiscreen
Hi,
Im trying to work out if I can drop Multiscreen from my subscription:
- we only have one tv plus Sky Q box
- I use Sky Go but not to access recordings on the Sky Q box
- I do watch live tv (Sky Sports) via the Sky Go app on my ipad when away from home.
Can I drop Multiscreen or does the last point about watching live tv on the ipad mean i need it?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Multiscreen
You do not need multiscreen if you have only your main Sky Q box and you use the Sky Go app to watch live sports when away from home as you would need to sports package for this which you would already have.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.

Re: Multiscreen
Yes, you're fine to drop multiscreen. Sky Go still works fine on a mobile device such as a phone or iPad without it. You only need multiscreen if you wanted to use Sky Go on an Apple TV box or games console (or Sky Go Extra).
Without multiscreen you can still live stream most of the channels that are part of your main TV package, download and stream on demand content too. You can also set remote recordings to your main Q box whilst away from home, you just can't access recordings from the box.

Re: Multiscreen
Thanks for your answers. Can I just confirm that by dropping Multiscreen I can still watch Sky Sports via Sky Go on my iPad when away from home? I only ask as the reply above said I can watch most live channels and I just want to make sure that Sky Sports is one of them. Cheers

Re: Multiscreen
Hi @Dafcno1 You should be able to watch all of your subscription channels live using Sky Go on your iPad. It is difficult to confirm unless somebody comes along that doesn't have Multiscreen and does have Sky Sports.

@Dafcno1 The channels that you can currently get away from home will not change it's only the channels you get whilst at home that would change as away from home you cannot view the BBC channels and a few others but when at home with your Q box connected you can watch the BBC channels.
You will definately be able to watch the Sky sports channels that you subscribe to without the multiscreen subscription on Sky Go

hi @Dafcno1
Just one word of caution if you watch in UHD & have not switched over to SKY Signature
A long time ago the SKY Multiscreen Pack enabled UHD so if you do watch in UHD and have not switched to Sugnature and the separate UHD add on removing multiscreen could downgrade you

Re: Multiscreen
If only Sky agents were consistent with what they tell you and what is on their webpage. Just found out I have been paying for multiscreen for years, only have 1 tv, only ever had 1 tv. Raised a complaint back in early Feb, been messed about, given wrong information, contradictory information, told by 2 different agents about how multiscreen was sold to get around paying for the upgrade, and the saga goes on. Today I have been advised that they will offer me £20 goodwill, against what I think is £600+ payments. The reason, apparently Sky Go on a mobile is classed as multiscreen!!! I can't see anything that says SkyGo is part of the multiscreen package, in fact everything I read references TVs. CISAS here I come, as Sky can't take any further action. Even that's wrong, they are choosing to offer a goodwill of £20, which won't even cover the time I have spent chasing them.

Re: Multiscreen
Hi @donut Multiscreen as the name implies, is for watching your TV subscription on other screens. You are probably thinking Multiroom, which implies you wish to watch on another TV. Many people take out the Multiscreen subscription to watch on their phones, tablets, games machines and computers. We often have to remind people to order a Sky Mini box at the same time to watch on another TV. The Mini box does not come with Multiscreen automatically.

Re: Multiscreen
@donut prior to 2020 you also needed a multiscreen subscription to watch in UHD before Sky released the UHD subscription so thats another reason that some people took out a multiscreen subscription

Re: Multiscreen
And Multiscreen was typically included by default in a 'VIP upgrade' from Sky + to Sky Q.
