Mini Sky Q box not responding to remote control

Hi @MarkQiMark  Try rebooting your main SKYQ box  by removing the power cable for 30 sec then reconnect to reboot, then do the same with the mini box, wait for it to fully reboot!

Im having exactly the same issue. was this resolved?

for some reason it wants me to set up my mini q box in 4 steps. the first step is to push the button in ther middle of the remote with the dot. but its doing nothing. 

the volume adusts on the tv with the same remote and I can switch the tv off, but its not responding to the button with the dot and therefore wont set up?

any ideas?

Hi @MarkQiMark   If you haven't already tried it I would power reboot the Mini box. Then un-pair the remote (hold down 7 & 9 until the red light flashes 4 times, repeat with 4 & 6) then see it it responds to IR commands. Finally pair the remote again.

The remote test worded for me without the main hub being rest. I reset the mini and do the 7&9 and that worked itself. Cheer whoever posted this! 🤙🏼

The same thing happened to me so could not operate the mini box. Done the 7&9 then 4&6 trick and all sorted. A huge well done and thanks for putting this up, ever thought of working for sky's very poor help service?

Same thing here. Remote has red lights working but cant seem to connect to Sky Q mini box. Installed last week, worked at first and just stopped. No reset or reboot has worked. Help please.

I'm having the same problem - did you get yours fixed in the end? If so, what did you do? Thanks in advance.

Called Sky. They sent a new remote. Arrived next day, worked straight out of the box!

Working perfectly then thunderstorm and although main Q box working mini is not responding and message says no signal try source but not responding to remote

Try changing the source using the TV remote, not the Sky remote. That should help show the Sky screen again. It's possible the mini is responding to the Sky remote, but you're on the wrong input source to show it.

Judging by the message trail, this is a common occurrence. We sort it by turning the Mini Box off and on again. Why haven't SKY responded to fix this issue, and many of the others on this forum. They always question the WiFi signal which I bet, in most cases, is excellent as it is in our house!
