Mini box won't connect to main sky box, all it's says on the screen is. Check the external output or select another input!

Sounds like that's a message from your TV and not the Sky box.

Try changing the HDMI input on the TV control to the correct input.

(Or hit the Sky button on the remote that might automatically select it if CEC enabled)
