Hello, sadly, I have had to end my Sky subscription today, due to them continually increasing monthly subscription since my husband's death eighteen months ago.
I am a disabled lady trying to survive on my state pension. I really didn't want to cancel but had no option. So, now it's gone today (the chap at Sky very kindly cancelled it straight away today, to enable me to get a refund of this months subscription) but he omitted to tell me that in doing so, I would not have the rewind function on my remote. Does anyone know of a way I can obtain this function, please?
I've also lost all my recordings, all my Apps the lot. He didn't tell me any of that, I don't think I would have completely cancelled everything off, on the telly anyway. I have kept the broadband, until I find cheaper (does anyone know of a broadband provider that's cheaper than Sky's extortionate £46?)
Many thanks for any help offered.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Mumpy I'm afraid that those functions require a subscription. Without a subscription the box is just a black brick. Until recently the box is only on loan and may need to be returned to Sky. It cannot be used as a Freesat box or recorder.

You will be charged for non-return if you do not.
To keep the box you need an active subscription. Sky offer an 'Essentials' package for basic TV that retains the recording function etc. but retails at £15 per month (You may be able to negotiate it cheaper than that)
In regards to broadband you always get the best deal joined a company as a new customer. There will be many many options cheaper than £46pm.
