LG TV HDR

Hi Folks,

Just a quick one, im a long term sky customer with Sky q so i find this forum great,

My Question isnt actually sky related but i know how  fantastic you all are, i have purchased a 32 lg tv for the bedroom,

so using the native apps on the tv only, i get hdr for netflix as i have the premium package , i also get hdr for Apple tv app , i dont get it for Amazon or TNT via the discovery app, i also get the HLG HDR screen pop up when watching hdr tests on youtube app,

i know i cant get any hdr through the minibox,

i get all the native apps through my oled tv downstairs as well in hdr so i know its not my account deatils for those apps,

Once again thank you.

hi @Tom+Shinkwin

I may be misreading your post but I am not too sure what you are asking - however :

Although HDR (High Dynamic Range) is separate to 4K, many providers do not provide content in HDR without it being 4K/UHD

Your TV may be HDR capable but as far as know there aren't any 4K 32" TVs

Re: LG TV HDR

Thanks for reply,

its just i can watch it on my 32 tv and it comes up the hdr pop up in the top right corner for netflix and apple tv app, so i thought it would for tnt sports through the d+ app, and amazon.

Hi @Tom+Shinkwin

Sky Q content will only be in HDR (when available) for UHD content.

As minis are not UHD capable you will not get HDR through a mini.

As I mentioned many providers do not supply HDR on non UHD content - as you found Prime is one, I am fairly confident Disney doesn't either

edit BBC  iplayer being another

Re: LG TV HDR

TNT have very little sport in HDR. The next programmes I can see on their TNT Sports Ultimate channel are the Wimbledon finals on 12th and 13th July. Virtually all they show in UHD and HDR is football and rugby.

However there is the odd replay of a match - go on the left menu to sport then across the top to football and then go down the rows. You will find a replay of the Champions League final labelled UHD. It is something over five hours from memory. There are two versions, make sure you select the UHD version. If you can get HDR from the app that will work.
