IPlayer app

My BBC iPlayer only opens as "Guest" with children's tv. I have refreshed the app using the service menu 001, not no difference. BBC says the app must be deleted and reinstalled. Any advice if this is true? How should I do this?

Hi @Cj52

You cannot delete or Add any Apps on your Q box.

Check if you you can change the details by logging into the iPlayer Website

@Cj52  Are you actually logging into the BBC iPlayer via your BBC credentials?

Re: IPlayer app

When I had Q installed I set it up as per the instructions and entered the pass code, the same as other apps. Worked fine for a day then went to Guest. I get the message it is a temporary problem and should soon correct. It hasn't - hence the query with BBC.

I might be wrong, but I think you need to log in with your credentials you use when using the iPlayer on your phone.

Re: IPlayer app

I've tried to get to the login page but there is no way I can get to it - it does not appear in settings. I agree that IF I could get to it I might be able to solve my problem. Thanks for your help.

@Cj52  If your already in as 'guest' scroll down the left menu to the cog at the bottom. From there you should be able to access the account details page. That should give you option of entering your BBC credentials (not your Sky login)

When you first launch iPlayer on the Sky Q box, does it show in the centre  of the screen Guest profile, that you have to click on?
To the right of that should be a Kids profile and a + to add a new profile. Try adding a new profile there

Or is the iPlayer just starting up to the main iPlayer home menu?
In which case, either go to settings at bottom left and choose BBC Account or click on the top left profile icon.

Would be useful, if you could screenshot what your main iPlayer screen looks like.

Also, could you let uis know Under iPlayer settings, Settings>Settings&help>Help>System Information what your Application Version and Device is listed as
Also, on your Sky Q box, from the Home menu, go to settings>System Information and let us know whet Software version you have listed.
