So I have too many HDMI connections for my TV (5 HDMI connections and only 4 ports) so I purchased a HDMI switcher for my SkyQ box and my Firestick, but the Sky box flashes on the display then off. It's a powered switcher by UGreen 4K 120hz HDR one, any reasons why it isn't working?

It is a UGreen 3 in 1 HMDI Switch. https://uk.ugreen.com/products/ugreen-4k-120hz-hdmi-2-1-switch-3-in-1-out?currency=GBP&variant=46598... That's the link, checked the booklet and says it is HDMI compliant and also suggest that a problem could be the device I'm using isn't HDCP compliant, which the sky q box is

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Brynsta It looks like it should work, what happens if the Sky Q box is the only input. Note HDCP compliant means your TV, not the Sky Q box which requires the switch to be HDCP compliant. Not the other way round.

I tried that, works for a slightly longer spell, maybe 5 seconds, the. The screen went grey and then black, then the no signal input again. TV is an LG G4 so shouldn't have any issues with HDCP

Standard sky one from the box to the switcher, same again from the switcher to the TV, even tried swapping the switcher to the TV one to a brand new UGreen 0.5 hdmi cable, same result

A long shot could be the switcher is 'faulty'.
I would note that the specs do not list the 50Hz used by the Sky box. But I suspect this is red herring as signals are just passed through - I doubt there's any 'processing' done.

That's what I'm wondering, I will try and get a new one from them and see if that fixes it. Hoping it will, not sure what to do otherwise!

Is it externally powered? We've seen issues before with switches relying on the Sky Q box's HDMI port for power.
