Garden Room mini box issue

Hello,all

i have just completed a garden room build.

In the house we have a  Sky Q main box connected to my virgin router by Ethernet cable, and two mini boxes  connected wirelessly . Simple system works great.

I have a cat 5 cable from the Virgin router to a  uniquity wireless access point into the garden room about 35mtrs, mirroring the connection & password of the virgin router very stable., everything on the TV streams perfectly , Netflix, prime etc.. a. very strong wireless connection.

but I can't get the mini box to work, or will work for 5 mins then play up....and then disrupt the wireless connections to the two household mini boxes, when  I join the garden sky mini to the sky system wirelessly  through a sky booster I have,  the other 2 x mini boxes drop connection or stutter and freeze...

what is the best way to connect the third mini box in the garden room, but leaving the two mini boxes wirelessly working with the main sky q box in the house.

Is there a need for another separate Cat5 cable being wired to the garden solely for the mini box or can I utilise the cat 5 already installed. And if so what do I need... or do I need unmanaged cat 5 switches.

Also as the Ethernet port on the sky Q main box is wired into the virgin router, how is the best way to connect to both the virgin router and the garden room with a Ethernet connection.

your help and advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Garry

Hi @Garrystm

Afraid Q mini boxes will not work reliably with 3rd Party WiFi units.

You could try a simple unmanaged Ethernet switch at your Q box and then connect Ethernet to your router, main Q box, router and garden room mini.
