Engineer call out charge

Hi all

We paid £60 for an engineer to take a look at our sat. dish as our neighbour has erected scaffolding that's now blocking our signal. The building work is going to take 3 months plus to finish.

The engineer came and said he couldn't do nothing, i.e. relocate the dish etc. He was here 10-15 mins and said he'd put a note to say to refund us back as he couldn't do anything. He also said Sky would ring us, which they didn't.

Therefore I contacted Sky to ask for a refund (and maybe get a reduced subscription as we’re not using our Sky Q box to its full potential)  - although I knew they wouldn't do this but the £60 i thought Sky would.

After a few email exchanges and telephone calls, we are not getting the £60 back.

Apparently the engineer didn't make any notes (I could go into more detail but I honestly can't be borhered), so we are basically liars. His word against ours.

The two Sky people we called just weren't great tbh. Just reading from a script i feel with no leeway. You'd think as a good will gesture they'd just refund the £60 as we've been with Sky for 10+ years.

From this recent experience, when our contract ends (we have everything, Sky Q, Broadband, landline), we will 100 % be leaving Sky, no questions.

Just putting it out there so people know, how badly we feel we've been treated.

From the date you receive your April price rise email/letter (most have gone out now) you have 30 days to ring the number on the email and can leave Sky Q and Broadband penalty free.

Re: Engineer call out charge

Thanks oj.

I've found the letter and it's dated 24th of February. In my calculations that's 28 days. I'll phone them tomorrow.

Thanks my friend 🧡
