Hi. Currently got an old Sky+ HD box., with a new LG G2 tv. As an avid F1 fan I'm thinking of upgrading to Sky Q, to get UHD F1 coverage.
Is the UHD coverage on F1 live and still on F1 if I record it(plays back in UHD). . I'm also about to get a surround sound system with dolby atmos speakers. Is the F1 broadcast in dolby atmos and still be in dolby atmos if I record it.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @JoeBlogger1
Sky do not offer Dolby Atmos audio with Sky Q F1.
Its UHD/HDR with 5.1 Surround sound

OK. Thanks. I read the the premier league is broadcast with dolby atmos. Shame the f1 is not.

That would be down to FOM, who create the F1 broadcast feeds, not supporting Atmos.

Sky do not provide live coverage for the practices, qualifying or races but the FOM do...
Snap!!!

Hi @JoeBlogger1
Personally I doubt there would be much difference between 5.1 & Atmos from F1.
Also an F1 track will have significantly more microphones than a Football Stadium of Cricket ground
Don't get me wrong I am a big advocate for Atmos but sometimes I think it can be overhyped
