Hi,
Appreciate there are lots of similar threads and have scoured them to try and find a similar situation and solution. I cannot, hence posting. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere.
I used this forum to find recommendations for changing my set up, so thank you!
I have Sky Q main box and a minibox. I am on Sky FTTP 500 Mb/s. Openreach ONT and router in the hallway.
Sky Q box is in one room that is further away from the router than the Sky minibox, in another room.
I changed from the supplied sky hub because wifi speeds were not very high across my house. They were strong next to the hub, close to 500 and then below 50 at the furthest points and around 100 - 150 in rooms close to the main router. I was previoulsy using the Sky Hub, a minibox and two sky boosters (SE210) to get coverage across house. Which is reasonably large and 1950's style with quite thick brick walls in places.
My new set up is 3 x Asus RT AX88u Pro routers. One in the hallway connected direct to the ONT and then two others, set as nodes, placed in different parts of the house. I followed the DHCP Option 61 details, as per other threads. The connection between these routers works well and in the Asus App, all is green. My wifi speeds / connections around the house are excellent and a much better experience than with the sky equipment. At the furthest point I am getting in the region of 200 as opposed to 50. This has achieved everything I needed it to for more stable connectivity around the house: gaming, streaming, work video calls etc...
The problem though is with the sky q box and mini box. Initially the Sky q box kept dropping connection. It was only stable when I turned off the minibox. But it was still slow downloading content on the sky box and using on demand apps such as Netflix.
After an engineer visit he determined the Sky mini box was getting a better signal from the wifi router than the sky q box and this was causing clashes. He set up the old sky booster between the mini box and the sky q box and this worked for about 2 days. Then the same problem returned with the sky q main box dropping connection and failing to consistently load on demand features. I turned off the minibox and again things worked. Although still slow - and I get good wifi connection in this room on other devices (300-400 consistently) but the Sky box is behaving like it is getting about 25!
So, was lucky enough to get another engineer visit and he set up the booster again and turned off the 2.4 settings on minibox. When he left the minibox was working, the main box was working (still slow, although he said normal, I struggle to believe this!)
Once again, after about a week or so the set up stopped working. I had not unplugged anything or changed anything. The middle light on the Sky Booster for 'connected' is off and the power and wifi lights are green. I have tried everything I can think of to connect the minibox back to the booster or the main sky q box. Not working through the on screen set ups, using WPS, simply will not connect.
Any suggestions gratefully received please, I am on the verge of giving up on the minibox and really upset with my current sky box connectivity and usually love the service. I have been a customer for many years and everything worked great when using sky equipment, with the exception of decent wifi speeds across the house!
In summary - if you have got this far thank you!
1) How to ensure getting the best connection / speeds on Sky Q box over wifi to the Asus router connected to FTTP - is it normal for the Sky Q box to drop connection every now and then and need resetting?
2) How to get a minibox consistently working and not causing the main Sky Q box to suffer dropouts. Both engineers seem to think the Sky Booster is necessary part of the set up to have this working, I don't mind using it - I just want it to work!
Sorry so much detail - just tyring to provide enough information to make the problem solvable remotely.
Thanks for any help / guidance that is available.

Multiple 3rd party routers are certainly likely to cause issues with Sky connectivity. Sky boxes will only work reliably by WiFi from Q devices and any other WiFi will cause interference.
If all your Routers are creating one Network there is the possibility that it would work with all Q boxes connected to this Network by Ethernet with all Q boxes WiFi turned off.

Thank you @oldfella
It is a shame they will only reliably work with other Sky boxes. Leaves me having to choose between good TV and bad wifi or good wifi and bad TV! I would quite like, good both! That doesn't seem to be too much to ask 🙂
Appreciate the suggestion, and now realise the one bit of info I left out of original post! Ethernet to the boxes is not a practical option for me.
