Change from Q to stream

What are people's views about stream. Is it better to move over to it now or wait? I know the major difference is that on stream it limits saving programs

I have been told to wait as it's still a fairly new product

It depends entirely on how you watch TV, but if I were you I'd wait.

If you currently record a lot of shows to watch back whenever you like and skip through the ads quickly and easily then absolutely stick with Sky Q.

IMHO Sky Stream is only worth considering if you cannot have a dish, have fast and stable broadband and don't mind a more sluggish, somewhat buggy user experience.

Re: Change from Q to stream

That's helpful

i do have fast broadband but like you say I will wait. I am also hoping that in the future and when it's not so new, the price might reduce

Stream has actually been around for nearly 2 years - the pucks were initially only available with a Glass TV and Whole Home subscription from launch in Sept/Oct 2021 but were sold standalone from October last year.

The system still has its issues, much like Q did when it was first launched. It's doubtful whether the price will reduce any time soon, particularly as Sky seem keen on adding more content and more apps to it.

@Super+Anthony if Sky are still doing the 1 month SkyStream free trial I'd look into that

If it's not for you then  pay nothing more than what's advertised then return it.

If you decide to get it at a later date without a 1 month free trial you can cancel within the cooling off period but you will be charged for your SkyTv subscription.

Re: Change from Q to stream

Thanks, this is all very helpful

If I was to do it, can I keep my Q box for a period, so in the case I don't like Stream,I can go back?

Yes. Sky don't ask for the Q box to be returned until after the 31 day trial has elapsed. It's quick and easy to revert back to Q if you don't like Stream.

I could be happy with stream, except for the fact that things are not always available to view later from the playlist, some things never go into it and with others an episode, usually one that I want, is missing.

I would wait and hope Sky and the programme suppliers sort out the integration between apps and playlists.

Thank you for that. I do like this view, but as they say no one is wrong here and I just wanted to get people's opinions
