Can’t activate hbo max

It's been 3 days now since I spoke to a customer advisor and complained to Sky. I'm still unable to activate HBO Max via Sky. Tried several times and keep getting this message:

 

'Something went wrong - There was a problem connecting to your provider account. Please wait a few minutes and then try again.'

 

It's been 3 full days now and no change. Can someone help me with this?

Hi James, yes finally...  I remembered that I had used the same email address for an HBO Now subscription that I used to have while living in Dubai ages ago. I contacted HBO Max customer service on their WhatsApp number and the person who helped me confirmed that that was the case. He / she first had my email address released from the region and since then it's been working just fine. You'll need to do the same if you are in a similar situation. Hope this helps.

Having the same problem. 

  • Sometimes get Start Activation and it tells me it can't at the moment. Other times I can't get the start activation message. Had to change from UK to Ireland site and that seems to have messed me up a bit.

I need help with my HBO Max entitlement on Sky Q.
MySky shows HBO Max as “Already yours”, but on the Products page it says “Watch until 15/01/2026”, and activation on the Sky website gives the error: “We can’t do that at the moment. We hope to have everything back to normal soon.”

 

I think this means the entitlement is stuck.
I had something similar happen when I tried to activate Paramout+. I need Sky to remove and re‑add the HBO Max entitlement on my account and perform an app subscription/entitlement refresh. How do I get this done?

I can't activate HBO max. I keep getting the not available message. I have tried using the QR code, going through Sky.com. Resetting the sky box and still no luck.

Same thing here. I've followed all the help page instructions and always get to the page below;

 

Sky Q. Been given a £0 sub to HBOmax and Disney+ with my Sky signature package. My Sky account says in green that I have HBO max and Disney+ activated, but if I try and watch a programme i just get sent to the sign in page and have never gotten past there.

 

I've never had a previous HBO Mac account. 

I've tried following the link from my original activation email.

Ive tried through the app on the tv. 
I've tried through the My Sky web page.

Ive tried on the my Sky iPad app.

Ive tried turning off Wi-Fi and using a different device (iPhone)

Ive asked my AI who talked me through using the 'Get HBO' button and trying a new email address.

Ive tried using the 'sign in' option and my email address is not recognised.

Ive checked the 'status' of sky apps and there are no reported issues. 
Ive wasted many hours talking to the worlds WORST chat bot ever.

 

It really should not be this difficult. 
I notice that after every post someone says you will be invited to a private chat with a team member. That doesn't help the rest of us through.

So good to see I am not on my own with this non situation of trying to sign into HBO MAX. At the moment the only thing about MAX is I've wasted the MAX amount of time trying to install. Any help greatly appreciated 👏
