After switching off to standby at night, box refuses to respond to panel buttons and remote control. Amber light is on and internal fan is running.
Unplug, reboot and it works fine all day. Then, next morning it's the same thing. It's a new box, just 7 days old.
Any ideas?

Hi Daniel
I knew I should have added the time to eliminate the "economy setting" reason.
Nope, we turn it off around 22.00 and at anytime from 07.00 to it shuts there with it's internal fan running and Amber light on. Nothing wakes it unless you unplug it and then plug it back in again.
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. 👍

Hi @Millups
Edit
As pointed out by @Daniel0210 latest software (Q230.000)
First make sure that the Q box is on the latest Software Q230.000...........
if not update it.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/updating-sky-box-software-sky-q.
If it already on this version
Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Thank you. I'll check it out.
Mildly irritating as it was only installed by sky on the 17th and it's not worked since the following morning. It's a good job I'm not a technophobic octogenarian! 🤭

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI had a new box like this. Would do a spinning blue ring thing. Had to be replaced.
I suppose an easy answer might be a smart plug set to switch off & on every morning at 0655 😉

Thanks for the reply. Great idea.
I have a house full of smart lamps and smart plugs so one more on the sky box wouldn't hurt!
Anything to save a few more kWh's is always a good idea. ... An extra few pennies to spend on Amazon! 🤣
