BBC1 Northwest continually breaking up, not weather dependant.

I have had this problem BBC1 North-west breaking up for 2 years and despite having two service calls to solve the problem it still persists. The LNB and sky Q box have been replaced. I've updated the software on the sky Q box, this made no difference. Some days it's worst than others. There are no digital telephones or other wireless equipment near the TV or sky Q box. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You'd have thought any dish & LNB replacement would have had a realignment / signal check done though. Very strange. How often does this happen and was it working ok after the last technical visit?

Hello,

Signal Strength and Quality Check
Go to Settings > Status > Signal on your Sky Q box.
Check the signal strength and signal quality for both tuners. If either is low, the issue might be with dish alignment or obstructions.

You need to be aware that the Signal Status on SKY Q does not show the status of the channel you are watching unlike other Satellite receivers including SKY +/HD

On SKY Q it only shows the status of a specified single transponder set in an Engineers menu.

BTW SKY Q has multiple tuners linked to both the 2 cables on SKY Q  which carry the two different polarisations - one for Horizontal & one for Vertical

This means that problems with individual transponders will not show in this Signal Status indicator on SKY Q

@Kenx if the box & LNB have been changed and alignement properly checked it does seem very tricky to identify a likely cause. It would hint at some form of interference but you seem to have looked into the most common causes of that. Thus I am sorry, at the moment, I can't think of how to resolve this

For non local programmes it is worth checking and maybe watching one of the alternative regions listed from 951 on

You can see which other regions shre or don't share the transponder here:

Did that post from Denial get deleted? What happened there?

Hi, when the engineer called the fault was not evident, I had recorded the picture breaking up and was able to demonstrate the problem. He did a signal check which at the time showed all was okay. Because I had recorded the problem he suggested a replacement LNB and box would solve it. Unfortunately the problem returned the next day. Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for your reply. We have been watching and recording BBC1 from other regions and if it wasn't for local BBC news I wouldn't really be bothered about the problem.
