This is all great advise SKY but we pay money to watch these things but yet your system isn't working, our is still the same last night it made our sky box stop working altogether.

As others my sky box does not play sound when using the Apple App, I can use my smart TV in UHD withound any sound issues. This clearly points to a sky box issue, please investigate this sky.

The problem happens all the time. I've reset the tv and WiFi and sky box. Still doesn't work. I have to play apple app through smart tv to get sound. Sky you need to fix this. I'm paying you enough a month

Truly shocking lack of support (or even interest) from Sky.
Sound has worked very occasionally over the last several months. It is only affecting Apple TV through Sky Q.
You would think Sky's Support team would contact a few of their 000s of customers who have this issue, and they can then show them the problem if they cannot replicate it themselves.

Just signed up using the Apple TV offer from sky and to my surprise no sound !!!

Hi all, I'm wondering if you all have Samsung tv's? Sky could probably replicate this if they did it on a Samsung tv, this problem started after Samsung software update 1401 came out on its smart tv's, it happens on various apps and when switching sources also from an Xbox to tv etc
It doesn't seem this problem is a sky or Apple problem but a Samsung one - there's lots about this on Samsung forums.
The temporary fix is to hold the power button down on the Samsung remote until it turns it off and back on, it'll come back on with sound, hope this helps.

yes I've suspected its a samsung issue. But I no longer have the appletv app and wont be resubscribing

Yes I've suspected it's a samsung issue, but only within the sky platform. I could play apple tv no problem with sound directly from the samsung tv, but couldn't get any sound on apple tv via the sjy platform. Also I didnt have an issue playing apple tv via the sky platform on a different tv ( not a smasung ) .

Do Sky read these comments? I am having the same issue - no sound on Apple TV thru my Sky Q box - having to watch on Samsung tv app instead.

Same here, no sound on Apple TV and YouTube. This is really frustrating, what are we paying these extortionate prices for Sky????
