I'm not sure what you're expecting?  You need UHD material to get a 'better' picture, i.e. downloaded programmes or some select UHD channels (Sport).  You need a HD sub and an UHD sub too.

Or are you referring to HDR?  What hardware version is your Q box?  How long is your HDMI lead?

I presume you mean 10bit rather than 20?

Re: 8 bit

Hi I have UHD sub and everything is set up for this. My sky Q box is hardware version 32B206, HDMI lead is approx 3 meters but is an old lead(possibly the problem)

You need a cable rated as 'High Speed' for UHD.  No need to spend more than £10 pounds though.

Almost certainly the lead...

The box is HDR capable.

hi @SmoggyDave

do also check your HDMI Settings on your TV

One Samsung Customer reported needing to set a setting cvalled 'input signal plus' to HDR

There may be others such Deep Color or something similar

@SmoggyDave   Check TV settings menu , should be under General - External device Manager - HDMI UHD Color, then ensure the relevant HDMI input is slected (green dot present).

(Hopefully on your Samsung those settings are still valid as these are from an older model.)
