What cover does sky protect give if Sky hd plus box is faulty ?

Has anyone tried to request assistance with a faulty sky hd plus box recently? Do they replace with a sky Q box or just offer to repair the faulty sky plus hd box . I have just found out that sky ceased pairing the viewing card with a new sky plus hd in November 2024. I have only retained my sky protect policy because I thought that it would replace any Sky Plus hd equipment.

I seriously doubt Sky+ HD boxes are repaired any more: the youngest is now a decade old.

The Protect Device Insurance T&C's say

Replacements for Sky Equipment: We will pay for delivery,  installation and set-up charges for replacement Sky Equipment at your address. If we cannot source a replacement of similar make and specification (as it is no longer available) we may offer you an upgrade. If we cannot reasonably arrange a replacement to be supplied to you, and you do not accept an upgrade (if this is offered), we will provide you with a cash settlement instead of up to £65.

Sky Q itself probably has less than five years remaining as a television platform.
