Multiple Issues with Chime Door bell & Dreadful Support from Sky

I'm currently awaiting my 3rd chime doorbell in the hope it's 3rd time lucky - a working unit.

The first doorbell was working unitll I noticed that the footage had captured a friend leaving the house but not the arrival. After a difficult time speaking to the right department - a new chime unit was sent out.

The second one came and everything was fine while I installed untill it went offline saying there was a software update required. On going through the advised steps multiple times I just kept getting the message "Firmware update unsuccessful" with the options to try again or click get help. When I clicked on "Get help" I got sent through to the chat bot which asked if I had broadband issues or phone issues and no option for Smart home. I unplugged everything and tried to reboot. Then it got REALLY frustrating...

I called SKY Helpline and after approximately 8 conversations with different sky representatives passing me through to various departments, each time having to say I was the account holder, going through securities and then being told they had no guidence to support smart home. I finally got through to someone who said the would send out an engineer and confirmed this was a dedicated engineer for the doorbell. I thought I had got somewhere. But no - as I realised a few days later on the morning of the arranged visit, I had not recieved the usual  confirming text message. So I called to confirm, again going through multiple departments - I was then told there had been an issue with the engineer and they would need to reorganise the visit for later on that week. A second appointment was made for 2 days later and I blocked out the time. Again I rcvd no confirming message and called to confirm once more. I was then told no engineer had been booked and sent through to another chain of representatives. I finally got through to a sky representative who bothered to read the notes. She then advised that they currently do not send out engineers for this service. I had been lied to TWICE.  Although excessively frustrated having spent SO much time trying to sort the issue, I felt I was finally being heard, she promised to speak to a manager and that I would recieve a call back. I was confident she would, this time do what was promised. I was wrong. No call back but instead a SKY representative from another department trying to upsell my current package... AGGGGRRRRRHHH.

I'm now waiting for the 3rd unit.

Has anyone else had a similarly awful expereince?

Re: Multiple Issues with Chime Door bell & Dreadful Support from Sky

Yes, they didn't even know a doorbell existed on my first phone calls being passed around till I was cut off then asked to trouble shoot everything before calling, but my problem was the volume and connectivity and slowness the time lag and delays plus my two teenage kids not being able to connect at all, apparently their phones aren't up to the standard they expect to be able to download the app etc and now I'm too late to cancel so I have to continue to pay for it when half my household can't use it and the other half can't hear it and it's basically just to slow to rely on the app! And you would never hear it in another room, you can barely hear it on the room it's plugged in and if the tv is on you won't hear it at all! Customer service staff have no idea what to do if they even are aware sky have doorbells I have been told to call Amazon on more than one occasion! I am starting to think they might actually be able to help me more effectively now!! What am I meant to do now my kids still can't use it (main reason for buying it) and now it's not even charging it is just sat on my side table now unused, even if it was charged it would be useless its just way to slow to notify on the app (we have sky internet as well) and you can't even hear the chime so it's pointless, I I've no idea where to go fromnhear as they don't seem to know or care either, I'll be calling again tomorrow for another long and frustrating call in the hope of them sending a new one out, and hopefully updating so my kids phones can sync! But I honestly don't think they have a clue, think I'm gonna have to cancel and fight the payments and go with Amazon and get a ring! What specifications are they expecting for these things? My kids have Samsung phones not ancient relics but they aren't capatable!! So I'm supposed to go and buy top of the range phone for them to use the doorbell? I don't think so cheaper to cancel it and take them to the courts over it!
