Ethernet cable
This might be silly but does the chime always have to be connected with the ethernet cable to my router? As when I test the distance it says it fails

Re: Ethernet cable
You could also use a pair of ethernet powerline adapters, if you have a power socket in your hall plugging an ethernet cable from the chime into that ethernet adapter and the other ethernet adapter plugged straight into the router.
