Connectivity issue with Sky Protect doorbell
I have the sky protect doorbell etc...The issue I'm constantly having is, my doorbell where it needs to be polaced by my fromt door, is 31 feet from my Sky router. The doorbell signal strength cannot pick up a strong enough wi-fi signal. This problematic, as the layout of my house won.t allow me to put the router any closer and or the doorbell any closer.
I've tried connecting via a Netgear signal booster, and this is non effective., is thre any way I can do this or do I need an engineer in to install this and see the problem I've been faced with?
Thank you for your time reading this.

Re: Connectivity issue with Sky Protect doorbell
The door bell connects to the Chime, not your router.
So it's the closeness of the Chime to the doorbell that is the issue.
The Chime only connects by ethernet to the router.
So if it's possible for you, use a longer Ethernet cable from your Chime to the router and so positioning it closer to the doorbell if you can.
Otherwise, use a pair of powerline adapters using the ethernet ports and you may be able to position the Chime in a better position closer to the doorbell.

There's no 'engineer' support for the 'Smart Tech Bundle' hardware: despite the Sky branding it's entirely unrelated to the historic satellite television products which has the national network of installers, and realistically is a marketing promotion in a crowded home insurance market. It's worth noting that use of all or any of the hardware items isn't actually required for the insurance cover, which is a bit of a clue.

Thanks. I'm aware we don't legally need this for insurance purposes, this is more for the security aspect for the property as we live out in the stix.
