upgrade damage

i qualify for a free upgrade. 

when it asks on the app if the phone is damaged how strict is it? the phone works 100% no cracked screen just some minor scratches on the edge of the case? is this considered axceptable?

'Free' depends on a number of factors...  Particularly the model of phone you switch to and the residual value of your current phone (see below).

I would assume the residual value will be reduced - hopefully not by too much.
