eSIM activation help

Changed from iPhone 14 to 16 and changed to an eSIM on the 14 prior to switching . It's saying it will send a message to me but I have no phone with an active sim to be able to receive the text message. I also have my physical sim in the new handset. How can I set up the eSIM on my new handset ?

You can move the esim to a new phone as per this:

If you have a physuical som then you would be paying for a second sim with a new number so if you are happy to do that you could convert it to an esim as well:
