eSIM Replacement

Hi

 

Hope someone can help please. My old iPhone had an eSIM, my mobile broke so I bought a new one. I rang SKY as I need a new eSIM but they said I cannot get one as I need a verification code to be sent to my SKY mobile number to activate the eSIM. I explained I can't use that number as the old phone is broken and that's why I need a new eSIM. The only solution offered was a physical SIM but that will not arrive for 5 days and probably longer at this time of year. I need to be able to use my phone and I can't understand why I can't get a new eSIM? Has anyone else had this issue please? How did you resolve it? When I first joined SKY mobile I did not have a SKY phone number and it was no issue then but it appears it is now?
