Using data abroad

I am going to Spain and Greece over the next few weeks and looks as though you get charged £2 per day to use your uk allowances? Is that correct?

That is correct, you can you use your usual allowance so this includes calls to UK mobiles and UK landlines but does not include calls to local numbers in either country as you would be charged at international rates.

@Jon+ful

Additionally be careful whilst in Greece you don't accidentally link to an Albanian network which will be very costly (Sky warn of this on their website).

The only alternatives would be to get a SIM from a cellular provider which is one of the few that still include European roaming in their normal subscription, or the hassle of a local SIM and different number.  You really don't want to be paying rest of the world data rates.
