Trouble with activating new SIM card and keeping existing Sky mobile phone number

I am having trouble trying to activate my new SIM card and keep my existing Sky mobile phone number. 
My old sim is out of contract so I got a new one for a much better deal, both are Sky mobile so I just want to transfer the old number and cancel the old SIM card but the PAC is only applicable to a different service provider, when I try to use it, it states as they are both Sky mobile it won't work. 
I don't want a new phone number so what do I do?

You can't use a Pac code to move a number from one Sky sim to another Sky sim so you have a few options.

 

You could call Sky to ask them to cancel this new sim you activated and then use the one you have in your new phone.

 

You could either use the sim you have or if you want to transfer the number you have to the new sim then you would need to use a Pac code to transfer your current sim number to a PAYG network and then use another pac code you get from them to transfer it back to your new Sky sim.

I don't have a new phone, just a new SIM card. I haven't activated it yet (hence the post) so I think the best option is to call them tomorrow, frustrating it wouldn't give me the contact phone number when I tried to go through the bot help, just told me to post on here lol

If you haven't activated it yet then the options I posted above still apply because as soon as you do you will be paying for this second sim unless you cancel the other one and this new sim will have a new number.

I joined sky 1 month ago. I still have a temporary number and unable to get my original number back. There is no one to talk to. I am in a really bad way. My husband has the same issue.
