Transfer old Sky number to new eSim

I've just received my 18pro max with a new data plan and want to transfer my old Sky number to the new eSIM. I've transferred so many previous phones with no problem but I can't figure out how to do this! Co-pilot is giving me instructions that don't work! Any help appreciated. Thank you

You can't transfer numbers between dataplans.

If you've activated a new dataplan then it will have a new number.  (In addition to your current one)

There is a protracted workaround requires you to transfer the number out of the network and back in again.

Oh how annoying! Thank you. I'll give that a try if it's my only option....
