Stranded abroad with no signal

Since yesterday my signal has vanished. I followed all sky suggested measures including rebooting the phone, switching from auto network to selected provider, I even removed my roaming spend cap. I also request a settings reset but no effect. When I try WiFi calling I get failed connection. Feeling a little underwhelmed buy the service.
