Statute signal showing

My daughter has a satellite signal showing we can't call her ahead of time cannot call me I need this sorting before school tomorrow

What phone is this as you should be able to turn it off in the settings.

A satellite icon (iPhone one presumes) means the phone is not currently receiving a cellular signal.
