Spend cap not worked

I have a spend cap on- I am out of contract but have kept my phone which is still relatively new 
I have been charged £80 for data roaming when I put a spend cap on. 
what is the point of a spend cap is not adhered to?

'out of contract' isn't relevant here.  The dataplan is covered by contract terms.

Assuming the appropriate cap was sent before using the device then you have a good argument to call Sky (on 150) and ask them to remove the charges.  Note: there a TWO spendcaps, see here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-mobile-spend-caps

 

Sounds like a Rest of World location where data charges can be incurred extremely quickly.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
