Something funny and its not Lenny Henry

First an introduction. I was with another mobile provider for a very long time, but recently switched to Sky due to them being a third of my old price. I opted to keep my old mobile number. It worked okay, but when I started to be bombarded with scam messages, I contacted Sky, who helped by giving me a new number.  It works fine. Or at least I thought it did.

Now just add, I switched my wife from payg on the older company to Sky, and she too kept her old number

.Just last week I sent her a text, but she showed me it came up on her device that it was from my old number; yet to ring me she needs the new (Sky) number.

What made things even more bizarre was when she sent a text to her friend, it came up with a new Sky number, despite my wife keeping her old number. The friend replied to the Sky number and my wife got the message, but to call her she needs her old number!!

Sorry I'm totally confused.com

Hi @Kaled  are these iPhones ? If so go to settings, phone, my number and check the correct number is stored there. If not then update it, exit and reboot your phone. It can take quite a few attempts to save.

If someone has helped give them a thumbs up.

If their answer solved your issue mark it as the correct answer.

I won’t respond to direct messages so please post any problems on the forum.

You need to try the same with whatever phones you have as it might be that your phones themselves have the wrong number in their settings,

@caesaromeI'm afraid neither of us are technically minded, but we will have a go and see if that fixes the problem.

Re: Something funny and its not Lenny Henry

I've checked my Samsung S8; the phone number stored is my current Sky mobile number, yet it still shows my old number when I send a text.  It must be something else.

You could try order a replacement sim as that will come with the correct number so might solve this issue:

Re: Something funny and its not Lenny Henry

@caesaromeI haven't got the hold of my wife's iPhone to try it, but that certainly sounds like a great idea to fix my problem.
