Someone using my phone number

I just received a call from random number, and the guy said, he received a phone call from my number, and scamers were trying to fool him, to give them his bank details, they pretended to be from EE, so he hanged up, and called back, and than I picked up. So Im wondering if its possible that someone else is using my number?

Hi @Gintare295  yes it's called spoofing where scammers can copy and use your number. Currently nothing you can do about it. Thankfully they usually move on to use a different number quickly.

When scammers make outgoing calls they spoof another number.

They will sometimes use a random mobile number and that it appears the call come from you.  (It didn't)

Your account has not been hacked nor are these calls costing you.

They usually move on after a short period.  There are moves afoot to block this type of spoofing next year.
