You don't need to activate a sim if all you are doing is moving it between two phones so is this what you are trying to do, if so just move it to the new phone.

If you selected a new dataplan as part of the swap then you cannot (easily) apply that to your current SIM.
If you activate the new dataplan then it will be in addition to your current plan and with a new phone number...
I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
