Sim card and eSIM issue

I ordered an iPhone 17 back in October for my son's Christmas present. I didn't activate the eSIM at the time, which with hindsight I should've done. From Christmas Day to today, I've been on the phone at length most days with sky. 3 times and esim activation hasn't worked so I requested an actual sim. This sim won't activate either. I have to repeat my tale every time I ring to no avail. I have one very disappointed child. I'm not sure what to do next. Any ideas?

What is happening when you try to activate the sim ?

It just says can't activate sim. My sky account says that the sim is activating. Sky tell me something different every time and then try to distract me talking about other products and discounts. I'm going to a sky shop tomorrow but not sure they'll be able to help as the phone is direct from sky

It does appear to be stuck at the activating stage which is why when you try to do it again you can not. There have been examples before on here of this happening so if it still says this tomorrow you might need to get them to cancel that one and to issue you with another one to try.
