SWAP 12 VS SWAP 24 Confusion

Hello everyone,

I've gone through all the information I could find online, but I'm still struggling to understand why Swap 12 ends up being significantly more expensive than Swap 24, even though you're returning the phone earlier.

For example, the iPhone 17 Pro on Swap 12 costs around £1,559 in total (£63/month with £47 upfront), while the same phone on Swap 24 costs about £1,244 (£34/month with £24 upfront).

To reach the upgrade point:

  • After 12 months, you’ll have paid £803
  • After 24 months, you’ll have paid £816

Yet, after 12 months, you're returning a phone that should still have a much higher resale value. So why is Swap 12 so much more expensive overall?

If anyone can shed some light on this, I’d really appreciate it!

Hi @Mamrez  have you checked the final 12 months payments on both terms as usually the final 12 months payments reduce.

I do not see anything as such, at least not until checkout.

@Mamrez With the swap 12 option the monthly payments drop significantly from month 13 to month 24, Months 1 to 12 £63, Months 13 to 24 £36.75(swap 24 option the monthly price remains the same for the full 36 months), both options have an overall cost of £1244.
