SIM plan rip-off

Anyone know why I am being told that my expring £8pm 5Gb SIM data plan will now cost me either £12pm or £13pm when elsewhere on their site Sky are offering the very same 5Gb SIM for just £7pm? 

Also, if my SIM plan is expiring, can I switch to, say, a GiffGaff SIM and save myself from yet another way above inflation price hike (this one is 50% +) from Sky.

The £7 price is for new customers only I presume this £8 price you are paying for it now would have been an offer one when you signed up.

You can move your number to a GiffGaff sim if you have had it for 12 months or more by getting a pac code from Sky and then giving it to GiffGaff once you have got the sim from them.

Yes.  The increase isn't an inflationary one - it's a discount ending.

You have the option to call & renegotiate your contract or find a different supplier (I moved to Smarty) & request a pac code from Sky to transfer your number to the new supplier.
Smarty have no mid contract price rises & costs seem to remain the same as there's no yearly contract - just a rolling month to month one.
