I currently have a SIM Only contract. I would like to upgrade to Purchase a device and add a monthly SIM deal, but if possible would like to keep the same mobile number.
At present I am paying £9 per month for 4GB. I,d like to upgrade to the current online deal of £5 for 5GB and add the Apple iPhone 16 at £25 per month, it states that if I give up 40GB from my piggy bank I can extra off the monthly phone price.
Can I do this and keep my current mobile number ?

Yes, but not easily.
If you add a new dataplan it will come with a new phone number. You cannot transfer numbers between SIMs within a network.
The only way to do this is:
1. Ask Sky if they'll apply the better offer to your current SIM (expect them to say no as the deals are for additional SIMs only)
2. Transfer the number outside of the network and back to the new SIM
You need 50GB for £20 off (or 25GB for £10) the price of the phone

You then have 4 options, use you old sim with your old plan and number (don't activate new sim), use new sim with new plan and number (cancel old plan), call sky and ask if they can put new plan on old sim (they may not) and finally you can port your old number to a different network on PAYG then port back to the new sim.

So Sky agreed to upgrade my current SIM only over to the Monthly 5G 10GB Data package on new iPhone 16 device. New device arrived to today, however I've put in my SIM and instead of 5G / 4G all that is showing is G and this won't even open any Apps, unless I switch on WiFi
