SIM card in car

Hi all. 
got a new SIM card to use in my car. 
activated it OK and works fine in a phone, but won't connect when installed in the car. 
any ideas?

Almost certainly APN settings - does the car have a way of manually setting these?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
