Roaming issues Italy

No data access in Italy.  Roaming Passport turned on yesterday but nothing today until a few minutes ago- however apps won't access data and someitmes no data at all.  Yes everything is turned on and we have been through the trouble shooting steps multiple times, tunred phone on an doff again multiple times

Really really frustrating, so much travel info is in phone including maps and ticket apps

Is there an issue in Italy?

So- we were sent an e-sim to download which worked for 24 hours.  Then sent a mail to say over 50% of the fair use 25GB limit has been used (!).  Which is obviously nonsense in 24 hours.  
and now the data won't turn on again!!!!!!!!!!

phoned Sky again- they have no record of this- have 'reset' the sim but no joy.  
I am so frustrated.  Advice to any parents sending kids abroad: tell them to get a local PAYG sim when they get there.  The Aussie kids all have to do this and can show your son/daughter how to set it up.  Most hostels sell them and will help.  You can see spend limits so it's safe.  
So unhappy with Sky
