Returns and Pre-Paid Label Compensation?
I've decided to return an iPhone during the cooling off period. Sky have sent me a pre-paid Royal Mail Tracked 48 postage label to send it back with. The terms and conditions of the contract state I need to "use the return method provided". The label includes things like like customer references and barcodes for the warehouse to recognise who the device belonged to.
Normally, Tracked 48 only covers you for £75 if the package is lost/damaged in transit. Obviously an iPhone is worth £1000+.
Does anyone know if Sky have some kind of special business contract with Royal Mail that covers them for higher than that amount?
I don't really want to pay £10+ to send it back myself via Special Delivery (which covers the correct amount). I assume we are covered in some way if the worst was to happen, as Sky specifically say to use the return method provided?
Thanks

Re: Returns and Pre-Paid Label Compensation?
It's largely irrelevant. They're providing the postage which means the lack of compensation is their problem not yours. Should it go missing in transit it's their loss, not yours.

Re: Returns and Pre-Paid Label Compensation?
Makes sense, especially when the terms are quite clear about using the provided label. There's nothing in there about liability etc just that it's the customer's responsibility to use the return method Sky specify.
